According to a report Friday on Bleacherreport.com, the Culinary Union is seeking to have Rampage Jackson removed from the UFC on Fox 6 card that takes place Saturday night.
The Culinary Union is joining forces with several women's groups in seeking the removal based on a video that appeared on Youtube last year where Jackson teaches the viewer how to rape a woman. Of course the video was meant to be humorous, but understandably, many people did not find anything to laugh about.
The Culinary Union and the UFC have had issues in the past, and it is their work that is one of the primary reasons the UFC has been kept out of New York. This time, however, it appears they will not get their way. Unless there is a last minute change of heart, Dana White and the UFC have no plans to remove Rampage Jackson from the card.
The timing is a bit odd considering the video has been available for quite awhile. This fight appears to be the last within the promotion for Jackson, who has repeatedly complained about the way he has been treated. Dana White is surely ready to get this fight over with and be able to rid himself of the headache this issue and Rampage Jackson himself have become.
A letter addressed to the UFC, Fox and their sponsors has called for action, but none will be taken other than the UFC instituting a new code of conduct for it's fighters. The union and several women's groups were the authors. White, not being the biggest fan of the Culinary Union, has decided to stand his ground.
Previously, they demanded Jeremy Stephens and Abel Trujillo be pulled from cards because of their own legal issues. Both of those requests were denied as well.
The letter that was sent can be read here.
