Former USC All-American Maria Sanchez was the final women's player added to the field of eight competitors at the 2013 USTA Australian Open Wild Card Playoffs taking place December 20-22 at Life Time Athletic at Peachtree Corners in Norcross, Ga.
Life Time at Peactree Corners has undergone an extensive renovation and tennis fans will enjoy all the improvements at this club that has hosted big-time tennis events for decades.
The men's and women's player that emerges on Sunday will get an early holiday present in a wildcard for the 2014 Australian Open in Melbourne.
Atlanta tennis fans will get their first look at 17-year old Victoria Duval who upset Sam Stosur at this year's U.S. Open as she will attempt to win a wildcard to Australia.
Joining Duval will be a couple players with local ties to the Atlanta area. Melanie Oudin, who trained at this very club for years and Grace Min grew up in the Metro Atlanta area.

Shelby Rogers who is slated to be the top seed in the playoffs.
Winning a wildcard into the 2014 Australian Open would be big for whoever emerges with the title on Sunday.

The USTA has a reciprocal agreement with Tennis Australia, where the two national federations exchanged wild cards for the 2013 US Open and 2014 Australian Open. This arrangement has been in place for a number of years.
