Women's basketball to face Cal in NCAA Tourney

The Fresno State women’s basketball team will play No. 2 seeded California in the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championships in Lubbock, Texas.

Fresno State secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournaments after winning the Mountain West conference tournament.

The Bulldogs, seeded No. 2 in the 2013 Reese’s MW Basketball Championships, defeated top-seeded San Diego State, 76-70, to win the tournament.

This is Fresno State’s sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bulldogs have not yet won a game in the tournament.

Fresno State has played Cal in the NCAA Tournament once before, back in 2009 in the where the Bears beat the Bulldogs, 70-47.

The Bulldogs are the No.15 seed in the Spokane Region and will face Cal Saturday at 1:20 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

The winner of this game will face the winner of No. 7 Texas Tech and No. 10 South Florida.
