Women of the Tampa Bay music scene.
TAMPA BAY: The Tampa Bay music scene has always been a rich one, full of extremely talented musicians & bands. Just walk into any one of the more popular live music bars in the Tampa Bay area on a Friday or Saturday night and it won’t take you long at all to realize this. However, there is another thing that you may notice while frequenting your favorite live music bar or venue to listen to one of our talented bands....there seams to be more female musicians in our area bands lately, more then ever before.
Black Rose, Mojo Dragonfly, LoudMouth, Midnight Rush, Black Jack Bomber, Anchor Atlantic, Mighty Mongo, The Patty Sanphy Group, Twisted Logic, Decepcion, Livewire, Phoenix, Kickin' Again, The Surfin' Racoons, Triage, and many, many more...all bands that feature female musicians.
Whether it’s a bands female lead singer showing off her strong & powerful feminine voice, or the female guitarist who is proving night after night that she has what it takes to “Hang with the big boys”, one thing is for certain....musical talent & skill has no limits when it comes to sex! They sound great, they play great, and let’s face it...they look great!
On January 8th of this year, two of Tampa Bays finest female musicians were honored at the Tampa Bay Music Networks "3rd Annual TBMN Musicians Awards Ceremony". At that ceremony, Rebecca Field (Midnight Rush) received the award for "Favorite Female Guitarist Of 2010", and Amelia Warren (LoudMouth) received the Award for "Favorite Front Vocalists".
Welcome to a new, special editorial series that will be dedicated solely to honoring the talented females who work in the Tampa Bay music scene, both on stage & behind the scenes. Each article will profile a different female, giving fans a chance to learn more about their respective backgrounds. Leslie Redman from Twisted Logic, Beth Hammer from Velvet Hammer Productions, Amelia Warren from LoudMouth, Rebecca Field from Midnight Rush, Kristie Blue, and many, many more...they will all be profiled in this new editorial series.
Make sure you don’t miss the next edition in the “Women of the Tampa Bay music scene” series, where we will take a look at our first female artist.....who will it be?
