Thank goodness for the Angels that God sends to us during our stay here on his earth. One of them in my life is Susan McCarley.
Susan is a “one woman, all inclusive cheer team who literally cares!” this writer has been blessed to witness it firsthand and will never be thankful enough to have her in my life. Being relatively new to Wilmington, NC I’ve still got a lot to learn about it all.
Having experience the depravation and loss of cherished family members and friends, to that nasty offender, “CANCER!” first hand. Immediately this woman’s ears perked up when she began talking about “Women of Hope.”
Call it what you like… “The Big C”, “The Disease”, “The Family Taker & Breaker” or what it really is…a “Low down Dirty Thief”, Cancer has a way of robbing us all collectively.
Only God and his Earthy Angels can spawn dynamic support programs for those afflicted with Cancer, such as “Women of Hope”
When Susan McCarley invited me to join her at the September 26, 2013 “Celebrating Hope Luncheon” a part of the Women of Hope organization, I couldn’t confirm fast enough!“I knew that I had vaguely heard about this invaluable non-profit organization for progressive change, somewhere, but this news was indeed an updated blessing of information and much more."
Yes, this Writer has lost family to the clutches of “Breast Cancer”, “Colon Cancer” including my husband of 25 years to “Lung Cancer”. Face it, “ANY Cancer” is a terrible thing, but thank goodness for programs like “Women of Hope” and any other kindred resources made possible, throughout the USA and beyond.
The forthcoming information about “Women of Hope” is courtesy of the organization’s thorough website.
“Women of Hope” a 501(c) (3) charitable organization is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the female cancer patient, their families, and friends. We offer educational opportunities, financial assistance, as well as various support services. These provided services are designed to help with the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of all that have been touched by cancer.
By providing free of charge opportunities one can join with others to share their experience, strengths and most importantly, their hope.
Currently, any survivor may enroll in one of four different “Focused On You “Support Programs. The community is invited to “Survive & Thrive,” a monthly meeting conducted by various physicians, teachers and survivors.
“Women of Hope” also serve as a patient advocate to provide meal provisions, house cleaning, and child care during chemo treatment as we network with existing agencies such as, Social Services, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, and others, to tap into programs that are currently in existence.
Many of the requests submitted to” Women of Hope” are for financial assistance. We are able to provide these services through the generosity of individual and corporate giving, fundraisers, and community grants.
“Women of Hope” can provide a variety of programs and opportunities to all people regardless of income, race, religion, age, or where they choose to go for treatment. –End-
Please help this amazing program to continue their work in enhancing the lives of the women and their families. Sign up and stay in touch with them for the various “fun-raising” events and programs they host throughout the year. It may be too late to get into the “Celebrating Hope Luncheon” but never too late to donate, volunteer and “give a positive shout out” to “Women of Hope” any way that you can.
Oh by the way, “Big ups and thanks to Susan McCarley” for raising my awareness. “I’m officially in forever, to the program! so stay tuned for more form this Writer about "Women of Hope."
