Women, gals, girls, or just plain daughters, nieces, wives, ex-wives, aunts, moms, grandmoms, etc. are really helping to fuel the growth in the Firearm & Shooting industry. Across the board this is great to see as women are oftentimes the recipients or victims of crimes and violence.
According to an article in Today News at Today.com that there are as many as 15 million women in the US that "PACK HEAT". Congrats to all these women for exercising their rights! If you are a woman reading this and don't own a gun or go shooting, hopefully this article will convince you to buy a gun, learn how to safely shoot it, clean it, store it and enjoy shooting for a lifetime. In 2012 Firearm sales hit a record according to FBI statistics.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation recorded more than 16.8 million background checks for gun purchases in 2012, the highest number since the FBI began publishing the data in 1998. A record number of requests for background checks for gun buyers went through on Black Friday in November, the FBI reported at the time, in part because of fears that President Barack Obama and other lawmakers would tighten gun control laws. Still, the firearms industry had a $31.8 billion impact on the economy last year, up from $27.8 billion in 2009, due to job creation, sales and taxes levied on guns, according to data from the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Despite what you will hear in the main stream media this is a VERY REAL phenomenon that women are coming to firearms and the shooting sports industry not visa versa as the media would have you believe. What is commonly misrepresented is that the firearms industry has been courting the female shooter, using coercive tactics, etc. all hogwash!
Women are creating the demand! Women are shooting in record numbers! Women are getting their CCW or Concealed Carry permits in record numbers! Women are buying guns and ammo at record numbers and the companies just can't keep up with the demand!
