A woman with the world's largest hips loves her body and insists men don't like skinny girls. They "like an hourglass figure."
Huffington Post reports Jan. 22 that Mikel Ruffinelli, 39, is 420 pounds and has an eight-foot circumference -- earning her the title of World's Largest Hips, according to the World Record Academy. The woman from Los Angeles has a small waist at just 40 inches compared to her 100-inch hips. She said she began gaining weight after having her first child. She sees no reason to lose weight because she's healthy.
She sleep in a bed seven feet wide, has to drive a truck, and must use a reinforced chair at home that allots for her weight. Ruffinelli said she gained weight due to pregnancy, but admits she also eats "lots" -- meaning about 3,000 calories per day.
"In the past, I was self-conscious about my hips," Ruffinelli said. "As I got older, I learned to love my body and now I’m not afraid to show it off."
As for Ruffinelli's husband of 10 years, Reggie Brooks, he loves his wife dearly.
"She had a sweet disposition about her that really attracted me to her," Brooks said. "I like to tell people all the time, 'I have a license to work with heavy equipment.'"
