Woman who stole guide dog appears in court

The woman accused of stealing a guide dog was in court Thursday, Feb. 27.

Bonnie Ritchie was formally charged with a single count of felony theft.

Reports state that Ritchie stole Sheryl Williams Rottweiller, Diamond, from the backyard of her North Irwin Street home.

Williams is blind and was extremely distraught when Diamond disappeared. She immediately reported her stolen.

The two were reunited this week after a man saw the story on the news and told police Ritchie sold him the dog on Craigslist.

Ritchie is expected back in court Friday, Feb. 28 tomorrow.
