Woman who killed husband with hot oil wants a new trial.
"The oil did easily run down the whole body from head to foot, under their entire armour, and fed upon their flesh like flame itself."

Edna Mae Sanders wants a new trial.
In April 2008 Sanders, 48, of Diamondhead Mississippi, was convicted of killing her 53-year-old husband Sherman Sanders. She was sentenced to life in prison.
Sanders died after his wife doused him with hot cooking oil.
Police said Sanders heated two quarts of cooking oil to a simmer while her husband slept. Smart, because as any Medieval oil combatant knows, the smoke point of oil is lower than its boiling point. Then she poured the hot oil over her husband's head, face, chest and arms while he slept. That was July 28, 2006. The victim died a week later.
Before her trial Sanders rejected pleading guilty to manslaughter. She was, instead, convicted of murder.
But now, it seems, Sanders remembers a couple of things she completely forgot to mention at her trial. Thus the motion for a new trial filed before Circuit Court Judge Larry Bourgeois.
Her husband, she now says, had a history of violence. And he has sexually assaulted his stepdaughter the night before the pouring of the cooking oil occurred.
Assistant District Attorney Chris Fisher said there are no records of Edna Sanders reporting any of these allegations during her trial.
