The Rendezvous on MyTalk 107.1 FM is in some ways like a more down-to-earth version of the Joy Browne show, without the PhD, but with enough personal experience to back them up. Simon is a French guy whom his bio calls "one of the last great romantics" (listen to the show and see if they lie), and Kim supposedly knows men better than... than they know themselves. The bio didn't say it quite like that, but it's what I took for myself :D.
On their show today, Simon and Kim had one guest who's been in a "secret" rel-ship w a man for 9 years... She claimed to be w someone else at the moment, but can't let go of the guy of 9 years.
Kim suggested she "give her love" to someone else, since it hadn't "turned" into a full-blown relationship yet, so never will. Simon wanted her to reanalyze what the guy means to her and why she can't let him go, without making specific suggestion.
The lady admitted she did ask the "secret" guy in question was approached by her about turning their 9-year love affair into a full rel-ship.
Next lady complained that her man has another woman in his life he can't get over. He is a good father, she claimed, and a good man, she says, but not a good husband to her because of the feelings for another woman. Here, Kim actually suggested the girl stay with her man for the sake of their kids - that "innocent kids deserve a beautiful family." Simon again remained more objective here.
And the next caller was the most fascinating one. She actually complained that her man accused her of being too "freaky" in the bedroom. I wonder how he'd feel if he turned on the show and hear his girl admit to their sex life being a mere 5 outa 10. She said she was still young and wanted to spice up their love life. What exactly she did to him that freaked him out... we may never know. My guess is it had to do with the rear end for him (most common thing guys complain about in my experience). Not much to say about this one.
The last call was actually from a guy saying he proposed to his girlfriend during a "show" (I assumed concert of some very small local band, since only eight people in the audience). He saw another guy propose to his girlfriend there and he messed it up, so he basically used the opportunity to get on stage and make a spectacle of the proposal without hundreds of thousands watching like at a baseball game. The girl complained later that the proposal was cheesy 'cause of the small audience.
Kim believed that what essentially pushed him to propose then and there was the previous, failed proposal and the opportunity to "show off." She told the caller that it was a bad idea and should've been better planned.
The Rendezvous is on 107.1 FM 8-10 pm Mon through Fri.
