Woman threatens to stab boyfriend over excessive Facebook use

Facebook gets blamed for a lot of break ups and Kaileen Barney of Michigan is not helping matters any. The 28-year-old is accused of threatening her boyfriend with an 8-inch knife and destroying his iPhone because he wouldn’t get off Facebook.

Police found Barney, drunk and locked out of the apartment she shares with her boyfriend. She told police that she was upset because her boyfriend was constantly on Facebook and had contacted his ex.

Apparently the couple had been watching TV when Barney started screaming at her boyfriend about how he spends too much time on Facebook and not enough with her. Trying to escape the whole mess, the boyfriend told Barney to sleep on the sofa and he went to bed. A few minutes later, Barney entered the bedroom wielding a butcher knife and stated, “I’m a chef and I know how to use this.”  She then made seven or eight stabbing motions with the knife and came very close to slicing her boyfriend.

Presumably a smooth talker, Barney’s boyfriend coaxed her out of the apartment, locked the door and called the police. She’s been charged with felonious assault and malicious destruction of property, with the potential of serving four years in the slammer. She might like it there…Facebook is off limits in prison.
