On May 2, 2014, Bridget Huckins, 20, of Vermont assaulted a friend, her boyfriend and the friend's dog, according to The Enterprise. Police responded to the scene as it was unfolding in Brockton, Mass. Described as a “fit of rage”, Huckins was arrested for and charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and animal cruelty.
According to the friend who was stabbed, Huckins had been fighting with her boyfriend. She tried to intervene and Huckins turned and stabbed her in the face a couple of times with a sharp, metal object. Huckins then stabbed her dog in the neck.
The friend and boyfriend were taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening wounds. Huckins was also taken to the hospital and treated for difficulty breathing. The friend declined to have her dog looked at by a veterinarian, citing it was a superficial wound. All are expected to be okay.
