Woman stabbed to death in IHOP parking lot

Early Sunday morning, Killeen police responded to a 911 call reporting a woman had been stabbed in the parking lot of IHOP restaurant at around 3:14 a.m. The 21 year old woman was transported to Darnell Army Medical Center where she was ultimately pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

Witnesses reported the woman and her boyfriend were sitting in a car when her ex-boyfriend came up to the passenger side and an argument ensued. The ex-boyfriend then attacked the young woman and fled the scene. Police are still searching for the suspect. The young woman's identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

IHOP is just minutes away from Fort Hood, the largest Army base in the nation and site of some notorious murderous incidents including the largest murder spree on any Army base and the infamous Luby's Restaurant shooting.

Fort Hood has been almost solely instrumental in the vast growth and development of the city of Killeen and surrounding areas Harker Heights and Copperas Cove. Unfortunately, with financial, residential, business, and population growth comes an increase in crime. Killeen police investigators ask that anyone with information pertaining to this crime call Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477, visit www.bellcoutycrimestoppers.com, or text "BELLCO" with your tip and 274637.
