The suitcase was in the back of a Honda SUV being driven by a 56-year-old Phoenix man. Customs officials referred the SUV for a secondary inspection, and that is when the woman was discovered in the suitcase. She was laying inside the suitcase, tucked into a ball.

The name of the driver has not been released, and there has been no indication regarding whether he may face charges as well.
