Woman saves kitten found frozen to road

On Monday, an Elyria driver noticed what she thought was a chunk of ice on the road. When the ice moved, she stopped and discovered it contained a little gray kitten, frozen to the ground.

Dara Taylor said the cat was covered in ice, as though it had been in water. Even its eyes were frozen shut. Taylor freed the cat and took it to the Friendship Animal Protective League in Elyria.

The male kitten, named Frosty, is being treated for a respiratory infection. While expected to recover, Frosty continues to receive around-the-clock care for now.

Friendship Animal Protective League reports on their Facebook page that Frosty is eating and drinking and “he is doing well and resting.”

There have already been inquiries from people interested in adopting the kitten.
