Woman's purse stolen during church service

A woman contacted Northville police informing them that her purse had been stolen from Ward Presbyterian Church Sunday, Feb. 17, and her credit cards had been charged, according to 7 Action News.

Channel 7 got a hold of the surveillance tape of a woman at the Shell gas station at 5 Mile and Newburgh going into the store. The woman made two unusual purchases of cigarettes totaling $100 each.

The unnamed victim noticed that her purse had been missing and she contacted the police. The woman then contacted the Shell gas station, and the store clerk expressed that an unusual purchase had been made for cigarettes.

The clerk felt sorry for the victim and said that this kind of thing should not happen in church. Apparently though, the thief(s) had no regard for the church, they just wanted what they wanted.

Ward Presbyterian Church is praying for the individual or individuals who stole the purse.

If you have any information on the stolen purse, contact the Livonia or Northville police department at 734-466-2470.

Thank you.
