According to Monday's Houston Chronicle, a man in Harris County, Texas, is behind bars after being accused of mutilating his former girlfriend's dog.

Christopher Forkah, 20, is facing felony stalking charges after his ex-girlfriend notified the authorities that he had broken into her home and stabbed and beheaded her pit bull.

The mangled body of the ex-girlfriend's dog was located in a bedroom with a note which read:

"stop messing with someone's love. We got u. Last Warning."

The former girlfriend told the authorities that she had been assaulted by Forkah in the past, but she never reported the attacks. The woman also claimed that Forkah had sent her threatening text messages and he had left concerning voice mail messages as well.

The discovery of the mutilated dog on March 6 was the final straw for the woman - at that point she feared for her life.

Forkah remains in jail on a felony stalking charge; he is being held without bond.
