Tameka Denise Willis pled guilty today in the 30th District Courtroom to three charges involving injury of a child in Wichita Falls, according to an article in the Wichita Falls Times Record News newspaper today.
Following her guilty plea, she was sentenced by a judge to 10 years in the Texas prison system.
She received credit for the 243 days she has already served in the Wichita County Jail.
Witnesses said she beat her children for three hours on June of 2012 at the Wichita Ridge Apartments, 3706 Seymour Highway.
Wichita Falls Police Department responded to a call at 5:49 a.m. on June 25 and investigated the case.
Officers took statements from witnesses which alleged Willis arrived home from a bar that night and allegedly cut her three-year old daughter's eye by throwing a plastic tube container and allegedly attempted to stab her nine-year old child with a pair of scissors. She also allegedly pushed her one-year old child, causing him to hit his head on the cement.
Witnesses said they tried to remove her 9-year old son and place him in a vehicle. During their attempt to remove him from the home, witnesses alleged she punched him in the face and choked him.
According to witnesses, Willis said in her son's presence that he was dead to her and she woud beat him in the future whenever he returned home.
The 9-year old victim suffered scratches on his arms and torso and a cut to his chest probably from the scissors, according to witnesses that night.
Officers from WFPD arrested Willis and transported her to the Wichita County Jail following the incident.
