Her dog was found nearly dead. The unfortunate canine was first wrapped tightly in a plastic bag and then thrown down the building’s garbage disposal chute and left to die.
This same animal cruelty perpetrator has avoided any prison time.
Last month, Kisha Curtis of Newark, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree animal cruelty. Curtis also admitted that in 2011 she tied her pit bull up at a railing in her Newark apartment building in 2011. She then left it alone for over a week.
Finally, on Thursday, August 29, a judge sentenced Kisha Curtis to 18 months of probation.
In passing out this lenient sentence, this judge sayed Curtis “is unlikely to do the same thing again.” Further, he [the judge] also pointed out the dog recovered. [Supposedly] the case led to tougher penalties for animal cruelty.
The pit bull mix has been nursed back to health after his ordeals. Those that cared for his welfare nicknamed him Patrick when he arrived at an animal hospital near St. Patrick's Day. His story drew the attention of thousands online as they followed his ordearl and ultimate improvement around the world.
