A woman mugged on TV during a live interview about high crime in the area is making headline news April 10. According to Mail Online, the woman was talking to a news station in Rio de Janeiro when a man tried to take the gold necklace right off of her neck! The man (who looked quite young) didn't get away with the necklace but he did break it.

"The interviewer, working for RJTV, attempts to chase the failed thief down, but the petty criminal is too fast for him," reports Mail Online. The incident was quite ironic and proved that the crime rate is out of control.

The woman mugged on TV was talking about how there was not enough police present during the day and that criminal activity and she could be seen grabbing her necklace as the man walked behind her and tried to take the jewelry, practically choking the woman.

Of course this has brought up concerns about the upcoming World Cup -- with thousands of tourists expected in the area, crime rates could soar. "The video will serve as yet another warning to any football fans traveling to the city this summer for the World Cup to be on their guard," reports Mail Online.
