A 58-year-old woman attempted suicide in Paris yesterday by jumping in front of a train going about 90 miles per hour. Miraculously, the woman survived and hobbled home.
According to Reuters, the train driver called the police when the woman jumped in front of the train. But when the police arrived, they were surprised to find only a small blood stain on the train and platform.
Police helicopters were dispatched to try and locate the woman's body, which was assumed to have been sent flying by the collision.
The search was called off when the woman's partner came home to find her resting in bed and called emergency services.
The woman, who was not identified, was sent to the hospital with a broken arm and some other unspecified injuries.
Her partner told police that the woman suffered from depression and had attempted suicide in the past.
