Woman found dead in Maple Heights: Apartment complex closed off

Police officials have confirmed that a woman was found dead in Maple Heights at the Bel Vista Apartments. According to 19 Action News on Tuesday, March 5 a 53 year old woman was killed in her apartment and had apparently been brutally stabbed over 50 times.

The name and other personal information about the victim has been withheld until her family has been contacted. However, the property manager and personal friend of the unidentified woman spoke out about her death.

"It's really sad. I've known her so long. She never bothered nobody. She was a nice, polite person. All of us are going to miss her. We saw her on a daily basis," said a friend of the victim.

The crime scene unit was contacted and will work alongside the Maple Heights Police Department to gather facts and clues that will eventually lead to information about what happened to the 53 year old victim. The Bel Vista Apartments have been closed off until the area has been cleared by police officials.

The unidentified woman's body has been transported to the Cuyahoga Medical Examiner's office where they will conduct an autopsy on Wednesday. Although, there have been several clues gathered so far at the scene of the crime, currently no one has been charged or arrested.
