We told you earlier in the year about a woman that found a frog in a can of green beans.
Now it seems another frog has found his way into a person's salad. It just so happened to be a Wall Street Journal employee. So the news got out fast.
The WSJ reported Monday, the woman was eating lunch at her desk and was half way through her salad nicoise, from Pret A Manger. Then she discovered a two inch long green and brown dead frog in the lettuce.
Ellen Roggemann, vice president of brand marketing for the company in the U.S., said that Pret A Manger’s focus to sell “handmade natural food,” made from organic ingredients, might have been partially to blame.
She said, “We don’t use any pesticides with our greens and they go through multiple washing cycles. An unfortunate piece of organic matter has made its way through."
The employee returned the salad to the Pret A location on 6th Ave in New York. The manager apologized refunded her and gave her a voucher.
Pret issued a statement about the incident:
“At Pret A Manger, we take issues like this very seriously. Our lettuce is sourced from farms that do not use any pesticides on its produce, therefore organic matter does very rarely manage to pass through our production process. We are currently looking into this issue to make every effort that this does not happen again.”
So tell us, what have you found in your food, that wasn't supposed to be there?
