The video is astonishing viewers who witnessed it first online Thursday, posted by The Big Eaters Club. The mother of four and competitive eater from Nebraska, may have set a world record when she completely devoured a 72 oz. steak in less than 3 minutes.

According to Gawker, the previous Guinness World Record for consuming a 72 oz. steak was 6 minutes and 48 seconds.

Schuyler, who in her recent tour of the Pacific Northwest, also downed a 12-pound sandwich. She tells KPTV that she's only been into professional competitive eating for the past year, but she does have fond memories of "battling it out" with her siblings at the buffet when they were kids.

"[It's] an unexplained phenomenon; I was just born that way. I guess it's like a stupid human trick," she says.

Milton Stokes, a spokesman for the American Dietetic Association, tells WebMD competitive eating can "send a message to spectators that going hog wild with food is not a big deal."

Doctors also worry that competitive eating can be downright dangerous. For example, binge eating could cause stomach perforations in people with undiagnosed ulcers, says Shanthi Sitaraman, MD, PhD, a gastroenterologist at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.
