Woman dragged onto subway tracks: Video of shocking assault caught on tape

In an extremely scary and heart breaking video, a woman was dragged onto subway tracks in Philadelphia on Thursday after being brutally beaten.

Around 2:30 pm eastern at a deserted subway station in Philadelphia, a woman was approached by a strange man she didn’t know as just the two of them waited for the train.

The man approaches the woman and asks for a lighter. She obliges. But after she gives it to him, he slams her into the wall and punches her repeatedly in the head.

In the video, which you can watch below, the woman can be heard screaming. What comes next is utterly shocking, as the man then grabs the woman by the leg and drags her to the subway tracks.

The woman, kicking and screaming, manages to stand up on her own during the assault. But it’s unfortunately too late, as the suspect drags and throws her onto the tracks.

Luckily for the woman, the train was not coming at the time. And apparently, she’s also lucky she didn’t blackout after she fell onto the subway tracks.

"Thank God she wasn't knocked unconscious in that track area," SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestell said in a news conference Thursday.
