Thieves stooped to a new low after stealing the groceries right out of a vehicle that belonged to a woman who was with her two sons. ABC 13 reported on June 5, 2013, that the real problem is that the SUV has just wrecked injuring the two young boys and killing their mother, but that didn't stop the thieves.

Witnesses at the scene of the fatal crash were shocked with not only what happened, but what they saw happen after the impact.

The accident happened in Fondren, Texas, on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, when the woman's SUV collided with a second vehicle. She then lost control of her vehicle and crashed head-on into a tree, killing her on impact and injuring her two sons.

Police have reported that witnesses state they then saw people start taking the groceries that were sitting in the front seat of the crashed vehicle. This all happened before any emergency crews arrived at the accident scene.

"You see the person dead. How do you feel taking the person's groceries?" said onlooker Sheila Katoo.

The woman's sons, ages four and six, were taken to a local hospital to have their injuries treated, and they are expected to survive. Reports state the second driver involved in the crash was interviewed and then released without serious injury.

The mother had earlier attended the graduation ceremony of her four-year-old son. She then went to the grocery, dropped a friend off at their home, and then was heading home before the crash.

Police reports state the deceased woman was not wearing a seat belt. Her young sons were not in car seats, but they were restrained in the backseat of the vehicle.
