A south Fulton County woman died Tuesday, four days after she was shot during a home invasion.

And police are still searching for the shooter who fled before police arrived. They are also trying to determine the motive for the murder of the woman who was reportedly a manager at the Target on Camp Creek Parkway.

Around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Ms. Pamela Williams called 911 to report that someone was ringing the doorbell of her home at 3400 Amherst Pkwy., according to Fulton County police.

A short time later, the 43-year-old woman told the dispatcher that she believed someone had entered her home through the rear window, which had been left open, police spokeswoman Cpl. Kay Lester said.

“Officers arrived within four minutes and found Ms. Williams unresponsive in the residence,” Cpl. Lester said. “She had been shot, but it was not apparent at the time. We learned that later when she was at the hospital.”

But she declined to say where the woman was shot. Ms. Williams was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, Cpl. Lester said. It's unclear if she ever regained consciousness.

Police said there were no signs that a robbery had occurred inside the home.

Some witnesses told police they saw some men in the area at the time of the incident, but police were unable to provide a detailed description of any suspect.

Ms. Williams had a roommate, but she had left town for the holidays, Cpl. Lester said.
