A woman was in critical condition late Saturday night after being hit by about four vehicles on a Marietta road. But police said only one driver stopped.
They are searching for the other three drivers.
The incident happened at 6:53 a.m. on North Marietta Parkway near Allgood Road, according to Marietta police.
Investigators said the woman was in the roadway when she was struck by a truck, which stopped and remained at the scene.
“The pedestrian was then struck again by possibly two or three other vehicles, which did not remain on scene,” police spokesman Officer Michael Gardner said.
He did not say what the woman was doing in the roadway.
The woman, whose name is being withheld until her family is notified, was transported to Kennestone Hospital where she remains in critical condition hours later.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run wreck is asked to contact Officer Stephen Miller at (770)794-5357.
