Woman claims sunroof in Kia 'exploded'

A woman from Alberta, Canada says that the sunroof of her 2013 Kia Sorento recently exploded. According to a video report by GeoBeats, the woman is spreading her story because she wants to alert people that sunroofs can be dangerous. The woman claims that she was driving about 60mph when the glass on her sunroof suddenly exploded. She said that shards of glass covered much of the interior of her car.

"It was extremely loud. I was in shock. I pulled over and promptly started crying and then realized that I was in an SUV convertible and it was snowing and minus 22 [degrees]," the woman recalled.

The woman's sunroof was covered under warranty and was replaced at no cost to her. Apparently this isn't the first time that this has happened -- after some research, the woman learned that she's not alone. There were 15 reports of Kia's with "exploding" sunroofs from 2011 to 2013. Check out the video above for more.
