Just when you think the devil in the music made me do it stories were over, they keep coming back. 29 year-old Christina Paz claims the music of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails inspired her to burn down her parent's house in Cileo Vista in Texas. According to police, she believed her parents were planning to “kill her on Christmas Day, that they planned to sodomize her and chop her up with the help of a neighbor.”
Apparently, she learned about her parents' plan through the music of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. On December 27 she poured flammable super glue on a bed and set it on fire. She has since been arrested and is facing a felony for arson.
Manson's music had been blamed for several killing sprees over the years with the most notable being the Columbine killings in 1999. When asked about the subject in 2007 Manson responded “I always knew that I never felt guilty or that I did something wrong. I despised people who accused me of doing that. The whole point of my name was to make a statement about the very same thing I was being blamed for.”
Marilyn Manson plans to release a new album, Born Villain, later this year, while Trent Reznor plans to record new music under the NIN moniker. You can read more about this story here.
