Woman charged with bestiality and unlawful sex with a child granted reduced bond

Macon, MO - A woman facing multiple charges, including unlawful sexual acts with a child and a dog, pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday.

That woman, Christina Spaid, 34, also requested that her bond be lowered.

Amazingly, according to Maconch.com, Judge Frederick P. Tucker, granted her request.

The decision is stunning based on the charges which Spaid is facing - Unlawful sex with an animal, statutory sodomy, use of a child in a sexual performance and endangering the welfare of a child.

Yes, you read that all correctly.

Christina Spaid is accused of (among other things) engaging a minor in sexual acts and bestiality.

Despite the severity of the charges, the judge chose to lower her bond to $30,000 - a reduction from the prior bond amount of $150,000 set just this past December.

Unfortunately, the courts seem to frequently gloss over cases of animal abuse and cruelty with light sentences and misdemeanor charges. In this situation, however, the drastic reduction in bond comes as a shock as the accusations involve more than a dog - they also involve a child.

According to an article in ConnectTriStates.com, Spaid had a small grin on her face as she made her way from the sheriff's office to the court house across the street.

Perhaps the severity of the charges she is facing was lost on her, or perhaps she had some inkling that her request for a lower bond would be granted.

You can access the video news footage of Christina Spaid at this link.

Spaid is due back in court on March 14.
