A dog was shot and killed, and an Edmond, Okla., woman sustained multiple injuries after she tried to break up a fight between two dogs at her Fox Hill Terrace home, reported Friday's publication of News OK.
The woman who tried to intervene wound up with serious wounds on her hands, arms and head in the midst of Thursday night's fight between her son's pit bull and her own Labrador retriever.
The woman's husband, whose name has not been released, retrieved a gun - shooting and killing his son's pit bull.
When the police arrived to the couple's home, the deceased pit bull was found in the kitchen; the dogs who were still alive were seized by animal control, but returned to the couple the next day.
According to multiple sources, the dogs had all peaceably resided with each other in the past. All of the dogs were registered and current on their shots.
According to the authorities, there will be no charges filed for this incident.
