Domestic violence cases sadly are very common in today’s society, most are not newsworthy unless a celebrity or politician is involved. A local incident that occurred over the past weekend has created some interest.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Macomb County Sheriffs deputies responded to a domestic violence call on the 49000 block of Marseilles in Macomb Township. Upon arriving deputies were told by a 36-year-old man that he and his girlfriend, Danielle Nebelung, 31, had got into an argument.

According to reports, the victim told deputies that Nebelung attacked him in the bedroom, punching him in the face and head. The man says when he turned away from her; Nebelung jumped on his back and bit off a piece of his left ear.

The deputies found the piece of the victim’s ear and sent it to the hospital with the injured man.

Nebelung was arrested at the scene. She was arraigned Monday on charges of aggravated assault in 41-A District Court in Shelby Township. Bond was set at $10,000.

She is currently in the Macomb County Jail; her next court appearance is next Monday at 8:30 a.m.

One man’s opinion:

Alcohol was most likely involved.

Jealousy over a third party was most likely involved.

Let’s hope the doctor’s can reattach the piece of the man’s ear and that Nebelung receives some serious psychological and/or substance abuse help.
