A loyal German shepherd successfully thwarted his 63-year-old guardian's attempt to end her life in France on Wednesday.
According to Thursday's Daily Mail, the attempted suicide took place yesterday at the home of the woman who lives in eastern France.
French police have stated that the despondent woman was in the garden area of her home and she fired the gun, which was intended to end her life, several times in order to make sure that it was working.
Dogs are known for their uncanny ability to sense things and this woman's German shepherd was no different.
At the very moment that the woman turned the gun towards her own body and prepared to pull the trigger, her dog jumped on her, moving the gun just enough that the shot was not fatal.
The woman was found by her husband and was then taken to a hospital with injuries which were not life-threatening.
