A Jonesboro woman accused of forcing juveniles to have sex with men in exchange for food and shelter was denied bond Thursday after appearing in a Clayton County courtroom.
Now local and state investigators are searching for one her alleged victims, a 16-year-old girl. A second alleged victim, a 14-year-old girl, was turned over to the state for appropriate care and treatment, according to the Georgia Bureau Investigation.
Ms. Jessica Washington, 27, was charged with trafficking of persons for labor or servitude, enticing a child for indecent purposes, keeping a place of prostitution and pimping, GBI’s spokesman Mr. John Bankhead said.
Investigators said Ms. Washington made the two teen girls, who lived with her at the Maplewood Pointe Apartments on Upper Riverdale Road, perform sex acts with men for money.
The investigation began after a social worker uncovered that the girls were allegedly being used for sexual purposes and notified the GBI, Mr. Bankhead said.
It was unclear how Ms. Washington knows the teens.
