Apparently, the tragic Sandy Hook shooting has caused some people who desire to one-up Adam Lanza to start plotting a mass shooting of their own. According to Fox 8 News on Thursday, Feb. 21 Amanda Bowden, a 19 year old woman, is currently facing federal charges for threatening a mass shooting at Gateway Community College.
The Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Conn. upset Amanda Bowden. According to texts sent by Amanda the next big shooting should have been one created by her. "I was pissed when the Sandy Hook happened lol... Cuz I wanted to be the next big one."
The information was sent to the FBI about the mass murder plot by a man who was engaged in an intimate relationship with Amanda Bowden. Once the FBI took over they used an undercover agent who recorded phone conversations with Amanda.
Amanda Bowden's texts didn't stop with just one, she sent several others detailing how she would carryout a mass shooting and suicide bombing at Gateway Community College. These conversations led to her home being raided on Tuesday afternoon by the Connecticut Joint Terrorism Task Force, the FBI and the East Haven Police Department.
Amanda Bowden, from East Haven, Conn. was charged with a felony on Wednesday for falsely communicating by text, telephone or conversation in an attempt to carry out a suicidal bombing and mass shooting at Gateway Community College. The next step in the process is a detention hearing to determine if Amanda will be granted bail on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
Amanda Bowden also appeared in the Superior Court in Milford the dame day for unrelated charges including harassment. Amanda allegedly threatened to blow a man's head off via text message accompanied by gun photos because he attempted to end their three week relationship.
