According to Sunday's My Fox DFW News, the individual who allegedly dumped a mother dog who had been fatally shot, along with her newborn puppies, was arrested on cruelty charges this weekend in Parker County, Texas.
According to the Parker County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday, Tammy Green Douglas confessed to killing the female dog, and dumping her body, along with her newborn pups, in a cage along a road in Springtown; Douglas claimed that the mother dog, whose name was "Aowa," was aggressive.
The weeks old puppies were still trying to nurse on the deceased shepherd mix's body when they were found.
The ten puppies were taken in by the rescue agency, Angels & Outlaws Second Chance Bully Ranch; all of the pups are now nursing from surrogate mother dogs who have readily accepted them into their own litters.
By Sunday, Douglas had posted bond and was out of jail.
