Tina Alfani, 55, of Huntington Station, will be arraigned Oct. 5 at First District Court in Central Islip on charges of third-degree robbery, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
Police said Alfani went to the Stat Script Pharmacy at 1800 New York Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Inside the shop, she allegedly passed a note to an employee at the pharmacy counter and demanded narcotics. Both the counter clerk and pharmacist complied with the woman’s demands and she fled from the scene, police said. No injuries were reported.
Second Precinct officers caught up with Alfani a short time later and arrested her in Huntington Station. Detectives were not immediately available Saturday morning to comment on the case. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252 or anonymously call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
