A mother in Ohio allegedly convinced her 10-year-old stepson to murder his own father “in a decade-old killing that had initially been ruled accidental.”
Authorities are now charging Judith Hawkey with aggravating murder, child endangering, and insurance fraud “in connection with the 2003 death of Robert Breininger,” said to the Huffington Post.
Hawkey pleaded not guilty to those charges but is currently being “held on a $3 million bond.”
According to Defiance County Prosecutor Morris Murray, new evidence caused his office to charge Hawkey last week. Apparently, police began reinvestigating the death of Robert Breininger last year.
Murray also explained that this stepmother had been abusing her stepson three years prior to the shooting.
