A woman was shot in the neck early Sunday morning in Macon, and police are trying to find the person who shot her.
The shooting happened shortly after 1:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of Pio Nono Avenue, according to Macon police.
Investigators responded to the scene after getting a call about a person shot in the area, police spokeswoman Ms. Jami Gaudet said.
“Upon arrival they found a 38-year-old black female lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the neck,” Ms. Gaudet said. “She was being assisted by her husband.”
So far, police have not released a description of the suspect or provide a motive for the shooting.
They also are trying to gather the details on the circumstances of the shooting, but so far they have found no witnesses to the crime.
The woman was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Her condition was not readily available Monday.
