A 27-year-old woman was shot early Wednesday morning during a carjacking in Sandy Springs. And investigators hours later were still searching for the suspects.

But they have found the stolen vehicle, a yellow 2012 Chevrolet Camaro with black stripes and black wheels, in the 4000 block of Roswell Road, according to Sandy Springs police.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight at 6957 Roswell Road, police spokesman Sgt. Forrest Bohannon said. Investigators said the suspects, two men in their 20s, carjacked the vehicle and shot the woman in the stomach.

The victim, Monique N. Lassiter, of Sandy Springs, was in stable condition at North Fulton Hospital, Bohannon said. It's unclear how many victims were present during the carjacking, but police said no one else was injured.

The suspected shooter is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing about 140 to 150 pounds, police said. He was wearing a red shirt and a red bandana over his mouth and nose, officials said. They could not provide a detailed description on the second suspect.

A juvenile was shot Tuesday while allegedly attempting to break into an apartment in Clayton County with at least three other teens, police said.

Those three, 19-year-old Davis Haynes, 17-year-old Xavier Ponder and 19-year-old Ahmadd Stephens, have been charged with burglary-criminal attempt and contributing to the delinquency on a minor, according to the Clayton County police. They have not identified the wounded juvenile or stated his age.

Around 3 a.m., officers responded to an apartment complex at 5758 Ga. 85 after getting a report of a burglary in progress.
As officers were on their way, the resident said he saw four men trying to get inside his apartment, police spokeswoman Officer Ron Coloma said.

"The man says he got his handgun and started shooting at the suspects," Coloma said. "One suspect, who is a juvenile, was shot."
All four tried to get away, Coloma said. But about 10 minutes later, officers were called to another apartment in the same complex, he said. They were told someone had been shot.

"Officers realized it was the juvenile suspect involved in the attempted burglary," Coloma said. The teen was taken to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Officers executed a search warrant and discovered numerous stolen items, Coloma said. But it's unclear if any of those items were taken from the apartment of the resident who shot the teen.
