A convenience store clerk was killed over the weekend in Whitfield County. And investigators on Tuesday said they are searching for a 21-year-old woman in connection with his murder.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has issued a warrant, charging Ms. Skyy Raven Marie Mims with murder, spokeswoman Ms. Sherry Lang said.

Officials said they are waiting until next of kin is notified before releasing the name of the victim.

The incident happened shortly before midnight at Kanku Express at 3385 Airport Road in Dalton, Ms. Lang said in a news release.

At 11:59 p.m. Whitfield County 911 received a call from an individual who stated they had entered the store and discovered the store clerk lying on the floor.

“When deputies arrived at the scene they found the male store clerk deceased inside the store,” Ms. Lang said.

Investigators named Ms. Mims as a suspect after reviewing the video from the store and following other leads.

Officials have not released a motive for the murder and they have not said whether anything was stolen from the store. They also have not released any details on the circumstances surrounding the murder.

Ms. Mims is a black woman, between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing between 115 to 130 pounds.

She is believed to be in the Atlanta area and officials said she should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about this investigation or who knows the whereabouts of Ms. Mims is asked to call the GBI Calhoun office at (706) 624-1424 or the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office at (706)278-3029.
