Woman, 104, lies about age on Facebook. Technically it isn't really a case of lying. The popular social media site wouldn't let the woman's granddaughter input the correct date of birth, automatically changing it from 1908 to 1928 every time she tried, according to a Feb. 20, 2013 report by FOX News.
Marguerite Joseph is the plucky senior citizen who is the woman, 104, who lies about her age on Facebook, and Gail Marlow is her loving granddaughter. Marlow said Joseph's profile has shown her age as 99 for the past two years despite numerous attempts to correct it.
Since Joseph is legally blind, her granddaughter maintains her Facebook page for her by reading messages to her grandmother and responding on her behalf. Marlow hopes to see her grandmother's real age on the system someday, but, at least for now, the woman, 104, who lies about her age on Facebook through no fault of her own will remain forever 99.
