Woman, 104, lies about age because of Facebook (Photos)

A woman, 104, was forced to lie about her age because of Facebook, according to a Feb. 20 Kpopstarz report. Marguerite Joseph, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, was not able to sign up for a Facebook account with a birth date that included 1908.

In fact, according to her granddaughter Gail Marlow, Facebook changed it to 1928. The good news is that Facebook is working on a fix that will allow users to input a birth year of earlier than 1910.

Even though Marguerite Joseph is legally blind and can't actually see her Facebook page, her granddaughter reads and responds to all the messages she receives on the social media site. She has 172 friends on the popular website. She also appears to be quite a fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball team.

There are plenty of times when women choose to lie about their age, but it is incredibly odd that a woman, 104, is forced to lie about her age just to have a Facebook page. It seems that the 100+ crowd is really starting to enjoy Facebook, so hopefully the fix comes soon.
