Wolverine screenwriter Scott Frank is currently in the process of rewriting the script for the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie. When speaking with Creative Screenwriting Magazine, Frank discussed that he had never adapted a video game and how the script will present its own challenges.
I'm rewriting Assassin’s Creed right now, and what I love about it is that I've never adapted a video game before and it has its own set of challenges," Frank said. Especially in the world of rewrites, I love trying to do something completely different if I can.
The screenwriter has been nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for 1998's "Out of Sight" and has written for other films such as "Minority Report," "The Interpreter," and "Marley & Me." Frank will be revising the original work of British playwright Michael Lesslie.
Assassin’s Creed will star Michael Fassbender ("Inglorious Basterds") and is aiming for a June 19, 2015.
