According to a press release distributed earlier today, the first issue of the new mini-series Wolverine and Jubilee from Marvel Comics has sold out and will be returning as a second printing variant.
Writer Kathryn Immonen and artist Phil Noto have lifted two fan favorites—the adamantium-clawed Wolverine and his sometimes sidekick Jubilation Lee, a fellow mutant and student at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning—right off the pages of X-Men. In comic book history, the two characters have teamed up to fight giant, mutant-exterminating machines called Sentinels as well as villains like Omega Red and Sabertooth.
Now a vampire, Jubilee must learn to accept responsibility for the choices she’s made. She attacked and at least partly transformed her old pal Wolverine in the recent “Curse of the Mutants” storyline.
In Wolverine and Jubilee, the X-Men scramble to cut a deal with the bloodthirsty teenager while Wolverine attempts to bring her safely back into the fold.
The second printing variant, with cover art by Olivier Coipel, goes on sale March 2.
