According to Ace Showbiz on Saturday, X-Men producers consider the possibility of shooting a "Wolverine 3" movie back-to-back along with "X-Men: Apocalypse". Producer Lauren Shuler Donner and Hutch Parker are taking this into consideration as they are on a tight schedule.
Donner mentioned that since "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to come out in 2016, that would mean they would need to start shooting next summer. That being said, it would also mean shooting the new "Wolverine 3" movie either prior to or after the previous shooting. Donner said, "I think after because it will come out after".
Of course, that decision is based upon what the actors think of the scripts. Reason being is because the actors have to feel that it's "ready and right" for them. The foundation on which these movies are built are based upon what the talent consider to be true to them. Also, Hugh Jackman said it would be beneficial to keep his body in shape if the movies are produced back-to-back which wouldn't allow for any kind of break for him to get out of shape between films. It would let Hugh to secure his discipline in keeping in tip-top physical condition.
Jackman was asked if this would be daunting for him physically and surprisingly he found it not to be the truth. In fact, He thought he had a game plan to get a list of "cheat meals" going just after finishing filming "The Wolverine" only to find out he'll be moving quickly forward with "X-Men: Days of Future Past".
"No, in a weird way that has crossed my mind if that's the way things play out, because physically, even though I was complaining about it because I found out about [Days of Future Past] a month before I finished 'The Wolverine', so I was already planning on my cheat meals".
Jackman mentioned that since he'll be working with James Mangold on the film, that there is already a story in mind for "Wolverine 3". Apparently, it'll take place in a "completely different head space, world space, in every way somewhere different that you haven't seen him before".
According to Jackman, he is thinking if he ever does a "Wolverine" movie again, the Mangold project will likely be the last time he'll play the Adamantium, claw-wielding, non-even tempered character. For now, fans will have to start with Jackman's journey with the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" come May 23.
