Wolfpack hosts toughest home opponent when No. 6 Miami visits

N.C. State gets another big opportunity on its home court Thursday night.

The Wolfpack (15-11, 4-8 ACC), which likely will be in post-season play with one more victory but probably needs five to get an NCAA berth, will host No. 6 Miami (22-3, 11-1) at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.

Thursday will be “Beach Night,” with fans encouraged to sport beach wear at the game.

Miami won the teams’ earlier meeting 78-68 on Jan. 5 in Coral Gables.

Marissa Kastanek (13.1, 4.2) paces the Wolfpack scoring, followed by Bonae Holston (12.1, 8.2) and Kody Burke (10.7, 5.2).

Shenise Johnson (16.8, 7.8) leads four Miami players in double figures, followed by Riquna Williams (15.6, 3.4), Morgan Stroman (12.9, 6.5) and Stefanie Yderstrom (10.6, 2.1 assts.)

State’s next game is at archrival UNC on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Carmichael Arena. That will be the Tar Heels’ annual “Play 4 Kay” game.
