The $12 million expansion project at the Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack in Farmington, Ontario County, will include more than the run-of-the-mill eateries.
Renowned chef-entrepreneur Wolfgang Puck is putting the finishing touches on a 102-seat fast-casual Wolfgang Puck Express for the facility, expected to open sometime next month.
Such signature Puck offerings as gourmet pizzas, specialty salads and sandwiches will be on the menu. Guests will order at the counter and servers will bring their food to the table. Among some of the dishes:
- Chinois Chicken Salad -- Crispy wontons, cashews, ginger and sesame honey dressing.
- Four-Cheese Pesto Pizza -- Goat cheese, mozzarella, fontina, Parmesan with fresh and sun-dried tomatoes.
- Roasted Turkey Club Sandwich -- Avocado jardiniere, bacon, red onions, romaine, tomatoes, remoulade.
- Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf -- Mashed potatoes, port wine sauce, crispy onion strings.
Dave McDonald, executive chef at the casino and racetrack, will oversee the Puck Express, the first such location in the state outside New York City.
The newcomer will join a food-and-drink lineup that includes Tim Hortons, the Vineyard Buffet and the Platinum Grille. Also being added is Remedy, a 147-seat bar with an 18-foot, 220-inch, high-definition projection screen, 22 television screens, a stage and a dance floor.
The expansion will increase the complex's footprint by about 33,000 square feet to the casino, with room for 350 additional gaming machines, bringing the total to 1,549.
The casino and track complex is located just off the NYS Thruway (I-90) Exit 44 at 5857 State Route 96. Phone: (585) 924-3232.
