The Nevada Wolf Pack softball team pounded Northern Colorado 10-6 on Sunday in Reno for its seventh consecutive victory.
The Wolf Pack, now 17-12 on the season, had 13 hits. Northern Colorado fell to 9-18-1.
The Wolf Pack jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a run in the first ion a RBI single by Sara Parsons and two runs in the second on a two-run single by Karley Hopkins. Hopkins, the Wolf Pack lead-off hitter, was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored to lift her average to .390.
Northern Colorado, though, responded to take a 6-3 lead against Wolf Pack starter Bailey Brewer and reliever Karlyn Jones with two runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth.
The Pack tied the game at 6-6 with three runs in the fifth. Parsons drove in another run with a single and Ashley Butera hit her sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot to even the score.
Butera now has 21 RBI. Parsons, who was 3-for-4 with three RBI, now has 28 RBI.
The Pack put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Hopkins had her second two-run single to give the Pack an 8-6 lead and Parsons and Jasmine Jenkins added RBI singles of their own for some insurance.
Jones was the winner, allowing two runs on three hits over 2.2 innings of relief. She is now 11-4 on the season with a 3.04 ERA.
The Wolf Pack will return to action on Friday with a pair of games at home against Santa Clara (12:30 p.m.) and Idaho state (3 p.m.).
